Based on the non-fiction book by Mark Olshaker and John E Douglas in 1995, Mindhunter: Inside the FBI's Elite Serial Crime Unit, the serie follows Holden Ford and Bill Tench, two FBI agents interviewing imprisoned serial killers. In addition to trying to figure out exactly what makes these infamous criminals mark up, the couple uses this information to help solve ongoing investigations.
