The Wimbledon Championship is the oldest and most prestigious tennis tournament in the world. From the end of June, the Lawn Tennis Championships will take place in Wimbledon, a district of London, for two weeks each year. It is the third tournament called Grand Slam and the only one played on grass, also known as the "sacred grass".
In 2017, the Swiss player Roger Federer won for the eighth time. For women, Garbiñe Muguruza took the title.
Qualifying matches will be played, from Monday 25 June to Thursday 28 June 2018, at the Bank of England Sports Ground, Roehampton. The ladies final will be held on Saturday, July 14, and the men will fight for the cup title on Sunday, almost in parallel to the 2018 World Cup final.

Many have been waiting to read this year's games on Free TV. But unfortunately that is not entirely true, because Sky has re-acquired broadcast rights this time. There is only one exception: the opening match with Roger Federer, which broadcasts Sky for free from 13:50.
For the rest of the tournament, Sky Sport News HD will place the daily news on Free TV in the highlights section of the daily "London Calling" starting at 10 p.m.
